Sandra Varela is a very versatile Antaruxer and talented artist. She knows how to express her art in different ways: from modeling a cartoon character in 3D to making a real portrait with pencil and charcoal, she even makes small creations with sewing! She totally has The Magic!

Contest

On the 8th of August, we celebrated International Cat Day, and as the good felines that we are, we couldn’t do anything else but organise a competition!

The contest was very easy: upload on Instagram Stories a funny photo of our furry friends. The cutest cat would win a T-shirt from our studio. And the most “riquiño” cat would get some defective stickers (they came out of the printer’s office wrong, sorry).

After three days of receiving lots of funny pictures, we finally found out the winners.

The nicest cat is… drum roll… @fernweh.das’s cat!!

And the “riquiño” is…@bohtefa’s cat (?!)

True 3D witch

Azucena has an extraordinary natural talent for light, volume, and color. She probably has more CGI talents, but she doesn’t want to scare us.

Sometimes she makes little masterpieces only for practice and to learn new techniques. We believe that she will soon become a true 3D witch.

If she can do these wonders now as a young promise, what will she do in the future?… We assume that she will end up being the boss :)

All-round artist

Liu Chen Li is a director and an all-round artist, and his talent is developed in all areas of animation (even in UVs, yes). So, whenever a project needs that extra touch of quality, we like to count on him.

What surprises us and what we like the most about Liu is that after work he still has time to make amazing projects. For example, these NFT robots that he makes every day, almost like a small personal challenge. We are not complaining, who doesn’t want to see a new cool robot every day?

Mundos Digitales 2022

After the hangover from Mundos Digitales we have to get back to work… but first, let’s make a short summary of these wonderful three days!

Our team was present at the job fair where they were able to talk to some of the industry’s most promising talents. And someone told us: if you don’t have the Antaruxa badge, you haven’t been to Mundos Digitales!

We were also able to attend some very interesting talks: from how to make virtual jewelry to the new challenges other studios are facing.

And last but not least: we went partying!

Mundos Digitales 2022

The Master of the Incognito, our supreme Leader and stellar Patron: Brandán de Brano, El Mágico; is part of the jury of the International Animation Festival of Mundos Digitales 2022!

The competition is divided into two categories:

• Best Animation Short Film in which we find as finalists Combustible by Louis Grossot, Quentin Maillet, Betty Natale, Benoit Brissiaud, Pierre Picquot; Merry Big Mess by acha Gosselin, Ambre Bohin, Timothé ballan, Amaury Emond, Hugo Joron, Arthur Morle, Antoine Tomasi, Clémence Van Gout; The Monkey by Xosé Zapata , Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti; and The Soloist by Mehrnaz Abdollahina, Feben Elias Woldehawariat.
• Best National Animated Short Film in which we find Franceska by Alberto Cano; Genethic by The Third Lab; The Monkey by Xosé Zapata , Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti; and Wayback by Carlos Salgado.

7-9 July of 2022 in A Coruña

What a week! We were at Annecy International Animation Film Festival for the first time and we will definitely come back again!
At MIFA we met so many people from so many different places. And also, it was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces again!

By the way, don’t be fooled by the second picture, we’ve been working a lot these days. 😎

Cartoon Life

Thais Freire is made and lives for cartoon illustration. She has dedicated so many hours to drawing that she has ended up melting with a magic pencil that a witch gave her.

The good thing is that she doesn’t have to sharpen it. On the downside, if you catch her in a bad mood, she can turn you into a cartoon character with just a couple of strokes. But don’t worry, it’s very difficult to bother her, she’s usually too busy drawing cool stuff like this.

Powerful artist

Rubén Rey has proven to be one of the most potent Antaruxer; his talent shines too bright; he is like a small sun (or like a flashlight with many lumens).

For us, it is too late, his art has enchanted us, but the truth is nothing terrible and not itchy.

So if you also want to see his magic, take a look at the fan arts he does in his spare time; you will know that they are on another human level.

New campaign for Gadis supermarkets

Since a few days ago, Gadis supermarkets have been covered with their latest campaign. And guess who made the poster? Us, of course!
